The college has
been commemorating 20th Aug as
‘Sadbhavana Divas’
since 1992. The fortnight between 20th
August and 5th September is observed
as Sadbhavana Fortnight
. Various activities are undertaken to
facilitate interaction between different
religious communities during this fortnight.
This activity has been fruitful in creating the
atmosphere of communal harmony in the town. As a
result, people belonging to different religions
and sects have exhibited a sprit of tolerance
even when reports of untoward incidents and
communal violence have come from elsewhere.

The college annually
publishes its magazine
“Pathic”.
A relevant theme is selected each year for this
magazine. Articles on the particular theme are
invited from the students in the beginning of
the academic year .Significant articles are
thereafter included in the magazine. This
practice has earned the magazine awards at the
university level as well as at state level. It
has received the
Best Magazine award from the university
continually in the past two academic
years(2002-03, 2004-05, 2005-06) and award from
the state in 2002-2003.

The college
has good quality playgrounds .The facility of
floodlights is provided for regular practice of
various sports events in the night. The
playgrounds are made available to the school
students as well as other sportspersons in the
vicinity. The well equipped gymnasium of the
college is also made available to the citizens
for daily exercise.

The
vocational Guidance Committee of the college
provides career guidance and counseling to the
students. As a part of preparation for the
competitive examinations, the committee holds
General knowledge Tests throughout the year.
Guidance for the C.A. preliminary examination is
also provided to the commerce students.

As the
college is named after the father of the nation
Mahatma Gandhi, each year the Gandhi birth
anniversary is commemorated by holding
blood donation camp at the college. The college made extensive
efforts by organizing rallies, speeches and
camps to create awareness abut the importance of
blood donation among the students and the
citizens. The number of donors has significantly
increased over the years .Today the Bhalchandra
Blood Bank, our beneficiary, is a leading blood
bank in the state and the Ahmedpur town occupies
the leading place as a
leading blood collection centre in the
district.

Similarly the birth
anniversary of Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar is
commemorated by holding 18-hour reading session
at the college.

Soil testing
facility is provided to the local agricultural
community in the Chemistry Laboratory of the
college.

Regular
Parent Teacher meetings are held for
interaction with the parents.
